Event details
A senior U.S. official said President Trump and Vice President JD Vance virtually signed the agreement to end the U.S. blockade of Iranian ports, reopen the Strait of Hormuz and start 60 days of nuclear negotiations. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf signed for Iran. Trump, at the G7 summit in France, suggested he would not attend the formal ceremony set for Switzerland. Pezeshkian said a final agreement was not yet complete, and Netanyahu said he and Trump do not always see eye to eye.
This is the moment the deal actually took effect, two days before the ceremony that is usually cited as its date, and Pezeshkian's caveat that nothing was final proved to be the accurate reading.
